Presentation Description:

There have been seismic changes to the college sports landscape in recent months with NCAA litigation, Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) considerations, as well as unionization and employment demands from student-athletes. International student-athletes face an even more complicated roadmap of dealing with these changes as a result of student visa considerations. This session will discuss strategies on how to work with and advise athletic departments and international student-athletes alike on the increasing complications of collegiate sports.

Learning Objectives:

  • Receive updated information on the ongoing changes in the collegiate sports landscape and how international student-athletes are affected.
  • Attendees will hear various strategies and recommendations for working with international student-athletes and athletics departments alike.
  • Attendees will be able to review and re-evaluate their approach and best practices toward international student-athletes on their campuses.
