Lisa McAdam Donegan, Ed.D. is the National Institute for Undersea Vehicle Technology (NIUVT) Global Programs Director and Research Coordinator at the University of Connecticut and has over twenty-five years of experience as a global educator, researcher, and manager in international education and higher education. She has a Doctorate in Educational Leadership
from Johnson & Wales University, and BA and MA degrees in French and International Studies from the University of Connecticut. Dr. Donegan’s cumulative experiences in global education include researching conflict management on experiential programs, developing institutional exchange partnerships, inclusive program development, implementing risk management policy,
collaborating on curriculum integration, recruitment, and education abroad best practices. She was previously a Director of Education Abroad and Global Programs at private and public higher education institutions. At
UConn, Dr. Donegan is also an adjunct faculty in the College of Engineering, working with the Navy STEM (Science,
Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Education Program and developing the H4D innovation and entrepreneurship
for defense course. Her professional affiliations include the Association of International Educators (NAFSA) and the Forum
for Education Abroad and is Connecticut State Representative for NAFSA Region XI. She has presented at national and
international conferences on US State Department grant programs, global crisis management, recruiting under-represented
students, diversity abroad, and non-traditional programming in education abroad.
