Faculty-led Program Support: Navigating policy and providers

Presentation Description:

In this session, we will explore the varying dynamics of faculty-led program support. Post-pandemic, many institutions are now requiring the use of a third-party provider, which can create complex dynamics between faculty and staff. And when a provider isn’t required, that can create even trickier situations to navigate! We’ll discuss both institutional and provider perspectives on faculty-led program support, facilitating positive communication and cooperation between everyone involved, with some time to share experiences and ask questions.

Learning Objectives:

  • During the presentation, attendees will understand and identify both benefits and challenges that may arise when planning faculty-led programs with and without a third-party provider, whether required institutionally or not.
  • Attendees will come away with useful, implementable tools to help them facilitate positive, cooperative communication and stakeholder buy-in between faculty, staff, and third-party providers while working on faculty-led programs.
  • Attendees will be able to determine which programs are reasonable to run with or without the help of a third-party provider from an operational and risk management perspective.
